“Pratibha Nakshatra 2024” Talent Show to Nurture Nepali Children’s Talents in the UK

London – Nepali children living in the United Kingdom have an exciting opportunity to showcase their talents as applications open for the renowned talent show “Pratibha Nakshatra 2024.”

The program, aimed at fostering Nepali language, art, and culture, will take place on August 26 at the Asian Community Center in London Plumstead.

Organized by Pratibha Nakshatra, the prestigious event provides a platform for young Nepali talents in the UK to display their skills in various genres, including Nepali songs, music, dance, art, literature, and painting. The competition will feature two separate groups: children aged 6 to 11 and youth aged 11 to 19.

This annual celebration, known for fostering intergenerational social integration, will once again bring together diverse communities to honor cultural heritage, traditions, beliefs, languages, customs, food habits, and social unity.

Pratibha Nakshatra, a festival highlighting the richness of cultural diversity, will feature a variety of activities and competitions aimed at children and youth. The event will showcase two main talent competitions: one for children aged 6 to 11 and another for youth aged 12 to 19. Winners in the children’s category will receive cash prizes of £500, £400, and £300, while the youth category winners will be awarded £700, £600, and £500. Additionally, trophies and certificates will be presented to the top participants in both categories.

The Pratibha Nakshatra event team, under the guidance of Kumar Shrestha, the event's guardian and advisor, and with coordination from Sandey Bhandari, the European coordinator, is well-prepared to ensure the event's success. Bhandari has confirmed that numerous participants from across Europe are expected to attend, supported by organizations such as INAS UK, Buddha Foundation UK, Jamghat Pariwar, and NRNA UK.

This year’s festival will feature special guest appearances by renowned singer Deep Shrestha, media personalities Tika Ram Yatri from Yatra Media Team, and APone Television, as well as acclaimed photographer Moon Jung Khadka. They will join the vibrant celebration and contribute to the cultural richness of the event.

A unique highlight of this year’s event is the creation of the Pratibha Nakshatra Village, which will include:

Pratibha Nakshatra Tharu Ghar: Highlighting Tharu culture and traditions.
